The Gallery

An art gallery is a place for possibility – the possibility that a work of art will provide intrigue, inspiration, stillness. Still Point Art Gallery aspires to create such possibilities. A virtual gallery, Still Point Art Gallery opened its first show on April 14, 2009. The Gallery in part sponsors juried exhibitions as a way to provide opportunities for both established and emerging artists to showcase and sell their work. The Gallery focuses on themes or ideas as a way to creatively curate its exhibitions. The hope is that artists will be inspired by the ideas put forward for the exhibitions, such that the gallery can present interesting shows to the online public. Additionally, the Gallery anticipates that buyers and collectors of art will be drawn in by the ideas presented in the exhibitions, the imaginative display of art, and the quality of work presented by artists.

Along with a full schedule of exhibitions in 2010, the Gallery is also hosting its first group of Gallery Artists – artists whose submissions for exhibitions during 2009 were so skillful and engaging that they were invited to show more of their art as Gallery Artists. Among this group are painters, photographers, and mixed media artists. Their work will be available online until December 31, 2010.
