Still Point Art Gallery invites submissions for its upcoming online exhibition: INTERIORS

Cottage, rustic, contemporary, southwestern, or yard sale. We spend most of our time inside our homes, workplaces, and other spaces, and how and with what we choose to occupy these spaces matters—to most of us. Perhaps we strive for comfort; perhaps we want to show off our riches; maybe our goal is to live in a way that reflects our values; some of us want to create an environment of good design and good taste. Whichever it is, interiors are worth a good look.
Dates and Deadlines
July 1, 2013 - Submissions Close (Deadline)
July 15, 2013 - Notification of Artists
August 1 to October 31, 2013 - Featured Exhibition (Online)
September 1, 2013 - Fall 2013 issue of Still Point Arts Quarterly released; selected artists will be featured in this issue.
Eligibility
Open to artists 18 years of age or older from around the world who submit artwork in any medium except video and wearable art. Submissions must be the creation of the artist. Reproductions of original artwork, such as glicee prints of original paintings, will not be accepted.
Images
Artists may choose one of three ways to submit images: (1) upload images using our online form; (2) send images by email [very quick and easy and you may still pay online]; or (3) send images on a CD. Whatever way is chosen, images should be saved in jpg format and resized. The size of the file should be no more than 1.5 MB and the maximum dimension of the image should be no more (and not much less) than 1000 pixels. Failing to resize images will result in problems with uploading. The file name of your image should follow this convention - last name, title of work (perhaps abbreviated), and number (matching entry form number) [for example, SMITH_SUNNYDAY_3.jpg]. Do not include stray characters such as # or * in the file name. Doing so will prevent the file from uploading properly. Emailed mages should be sent to director@stillpointartgallery.com. Images on a CD should be sent to Still Point Art Gallery, 193 Hillside Road, Brunswick, Maine 04011. CDs will not be returned. Once the submission deadline has passed, no image substitutions may be made.
Entry Application and Fee
Artists are asked to complete an entry form and submit a non-refundable fee of $25 for up to 3 images. Additional images may be submitted for a fee of $5 each, up to a maximum of 8 images at $50. ($25 for 3 images plus $25 for an additional 5 images to reach the maximum of 8 images at $50) If entry form and image submission are completed online, payment may be made online by PayPal or credit card immediately following submission of images. If submission is completed by email, include the following information about each image in the message: title, medium, dimensions, framed/unframed (for photography), and price (if you wish to list one; NFS is acceptable). Please also include name, address, and home or cell number. Payment may be made by requesting a PayPal invoice or by check or money order. If images are submitted on a CD, please include an entry form. Again, payment may be made by requesting a PayPal invoice or by check or money order. Write checks payable to Still Point Art Gallery and mail to 193 Hillside Road, Brunswick ME 04011.
Selection and Awards
Thirty (30) artists will be chosen for the exhibition, making selection competitive. Selections will be made by the editorial staff of Still Point Arts Quarterly. All selected images will appear in our online gallery, and at least one of each selected artist’s works will be printed in the Spring 2013 issue of Still Point Arts Quarterly.
Five (5) awards will be given: Award for Best in Show (Single Image); Award for Best in Show (Portfolio…Three or More Images; Award for Best Photograph or Digital Artwork; Award for Best Painting; and Award for Best Three-Dimensional or Mixed Media Work. Each award recipient will be invited to exhibit his or her art for one year as a Gallery Artist; and is invited to submit a portfolio for publication in Still Point Arts Quarterly, which comes with an honorarium of $100, one year of free advertising worth $180, and a free one-year subscription to the Quarterly worth $36. Also, the exhibition and its award recipients are advertised on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and our Blog. Press releases are submitted to worldwide information feeds through several major press release distribution services.
Sales
Still Point Art Gallery does not engage in the selling of art. Artwork may be listed with a price or may be listed NFS. If a price is listed and if the Gallery is contacted by an interested buyer, the buyer's information is given to the artist. The artist may then contact the potential buyer. If a sale occurs, the Gallery does not expect any commission. If you wish to exhibit pieces that are not for sale, indicate NFS by entering a zero for the price.
Use Rights
By submitting work to be considered for the exhibition, artists grant Still Point Art Gallery the right to use their image(s) for the purpose of marketing.
